Lost iPhone Affair – Apple’s Heavy-Handed Reactions

Posted by the editors on Wednesday, 5 May 2010

David Carr has written an interesting article entitled “A Lost iPhone Shows Apple’s Churlish Side” in the Media & Advertising section of The New York Times, looking at Apple’s, and Steve Jobs’, heavy-handed treatment of the “leaked iPhone” affair, their inconsistent AppStore acceptance policy, and other aspects of Apple’s public relations and other policies.  Innovative, attractive, paranoid and “churlish” (“rude, surly and ungracious” according to everyone’s favorite Wiktionary).  Apple? or Jobs, himself?  Can one separate the two?

Posted by the editors on Monday, 3 May 2010

Mark Zuckerberg, a founder of Facebook, the social networking site that says it has sophisticated ways to defeat fake accounts.

Riva Richmond has written a short article entitled “Stolen Facebook Accounts for Sale” in the Internet section of The New York Times discussing the findings of iDefense Labs, VeriSign’s Security & Vulnerability Research Labs stating that real and fake Facebook accounts are illegally available for purchase on several online criminal marketplaces, a claim played down by Facebook.  More phishing and malware to give you more headaches.
