Eros

Eros, (DVD), 2004, Three short films (about 30 minutes each), one by Michelangelo Antonioni, “The Strange Thread of  Things”, one by Stephen Soderbergh, “Equilibrium” and one by Wong Kar Wai, “The Hand” .  It seems sad that Eros could be, so reliably, heavy-handed.  Nevertheless, there’s a marvelous setting for the Antonioni, the amusing pleasure of Alan Arkin and Robert Downey, Jr. and glimpses of a bath, for the Soderbergh, and the loveliness of Gong Li for the Wong Kar-Wai.  Not all what one may call “eros”, but not terrible, either, I suppose.  Worth seeing, of course, for the pleasure of watching three great directors, and a few very good actors, at work. (PR)

We recommend that you buy your DVDs.  Have a wonderful personal film library..
